BI & Data Warehouse Developer
 
Purpose of Position:
The BI & Data Warehouse Developer works as part of Rentokil North America’s internal BI team, which strives to deliver reporting and insight solutions that meet the needs of the business.  The BI & Data Warehouse Developer will be expected to both develop new solutions and enhance existing solutions.
 
The person in this role will be expected to work with the Design, Test and Release Team to maintain the Rentokil North America’s standards in all areas to ensure that solutions are secure, scalable, reliable, available and manageable.
 
The BI & Data Warehouse Developer will be expected to serve as a trusted advisor and act as a contact to the larger IT team with respect to specific developments.  Also, they will proactively share their knowledge of technology risks and opportunities to build competitive advantage and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the business.  
 
They will be responsible for 3rd line support of some applications, and so will be expected to be responsive and manage ServiceNow tickets to communicated service level agreements (SLAs).  It is also expected that they will put permanent correct actions in place, or where that is not applicable, to work to reduce the number of 3rd line support tickets to enable the 1st or 2nd line of support to manage incidents, thus improving the customer response time.

Innovation is a key part of the position.  Therefore the BI & Data Warehouse Developer is not only tasked with working on projects directed by the Business Systems Solutions Manager, but they will also will be given time to work on their own agreed innovation projects designed to challenge the businesses’ thinking about how they work today.

  • Enforce quality and development standards to maintain quality of work; analyzing and resolving quality concerns; identifying trends; and recommending improvements in design and development standards
  • Provide impartial, technical input to facilitate decision making and arbitration relating to trade-offs, both within and between different solution platforms
  • Work closely with other staff, such as Business Partners, Project Managers, Software Engineers, third parties, Design, Test and Release Team
  • Utilize the appropriate technologies and ensure that customers have the solutions they need, when they need them, and in the media best suited to their requirements
  • Work with the Design, Test and Release Team to ensure compatibility with company standards and best practice
  • Manage Service Support tickets in ServiceNow to agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Attend education workshops in order to maintain professional and technical knowledge; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies

Working Conditions
While the BI & Data Warehouse Developer will have a Rentokil North America Base Office they will have the option of working from home providing they are able to deliver their objectives.  In addition, they will also required to spend some time traveling to other offices / locations for training and meetings. There may be overnight travel required, extensive driving, etc.
Work Schedule: This role tends to have normal office work hours, although the BI & Data Warehouse Developer may have to interact with colleagues in different timezones, so flexibility so as to make early or late meetings may be required.
