Senior Accountant
Key Objectives and
  1. Maintains and updates the Company’s fixed asset records and prepares related journal entries for asset additions, retirements and depreciation expense for the US and Canada.  Prepares files for upload into the fixed asset system to record capital additions. Additionally, maintains the asset records for two affiliate companies.
  2. Responsible to oversee fixed asset records to ensure assets are coded properly and assigned to the proper districts, function and line of business codes.
  3. Manages the capital expenditure system for creating asset authorization requests and obtaining approval.  Maintains the employee approval hierarchy and district organization structure within the software to ensure proper Capex approval workflow. 
  4. Provides guidance to new users on the Capex system to address questions regarding how to create and approve Capex requests.
  5. Reviews IT equipment and software invoices to verify proper coding and ensures the proper setup of fixed asset additions.  Conducts research and investigation of certain expenses to ensure assets are properly recorded.
  6. Responsible to provide files for depreciation forecasts.  Prepares account analysis schedules and monthly working papers to substantiate balance sheet accounts, as well as completes other financial analysis to investigate significant variances.
  7. Provides assistance with the integration of financial reporting and financial software conversions for acquired entities (i.e. general ledger and accounts payable) or system upgrades.
  8. Completes the reconciliation of vehicle fixed assets with Fleet’s vehicle database to ensure vehicle assets are accurate and complete.
  9. Responsible to provide fixed asset reports and detail asset information to support other colleagues for accurate tax reporting and completion of property tax returns.
