What do our Specialists do?
 
Our Specialists help our hotel, restaurant, and supermarket clients ensure brand standards, food quality and friendly service for their customers. You have the opportunity to travel, meet new people and make an impact every day.  
They also:
  • Conduct assessments that measure conformity to established regulatory, industry, and proprietary brand standards for clients
  • Observe cooking, preparatory processes and clean-up to ensure proper practices, safety and customer satisfaction
  • Develop and maintain client relationships
  • Utilize problem solving and judgment to provide clients with ways to solve concerns and avoid future problems
  • Partner with clients to address root causes of assessment discrepancies and develop corrective action plans
  • Teach and coach clients how to make their workplace a safer and healthier environment for themselves and their customers
  • Understand quality and flavour profiles, including tasting
  • Travel up to 50% or 10 days a month - Most travel occurs within an assigned territory with  occasional trips to assist in other territories periodically
 
What you need?
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Food Science, Nutrition, Culinary Arts, or other Science degree or Bachelor’s degree/diploma (other than Science/Food/Hospitality)
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • One (1) to Five (5) years of experience in food service, restaurant or grocery operations
  • A valid driver's license for the last three years - Maximum of three (3) violations and no major violations in the last three (3) years.
  • Defense Driving Certificate is an asset
  • Foodsafe or SmartServe certificate is a plus
  • Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
  • Desire to travel via car and/or plane up to 50% of time
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Bilingualism in English/French is an asset
  • Candidates must be well organized and comfortable working independently
  • Ability and desire to influence others with tact and skill
  • Ability to provide clear and constructive feedback in a positive manner
