Target Specialty Products is headquartered in Santa Fe Springs, California (West) and Wixom, Michigan (East) and is a leading North American distributor of Turfgrass & Landscape Maintenance/ Forestry & Vector Control/ Aquatic/ Nursery/ Structural Pest/ and Vegetation Management product. We serve the United States and Canada with 84 x turf sales reps across Canada/US from 42 conveniently located branch locations.  We have Canada-wide distribution of fertilizer, turf chemistry, seed, and associated products to service all aspects of the professional turf industry. Our key customers include golf course, lawn care and municipalities.  Our establishment of a strong, local Canadian presence is critical to providing our customers with industry-leading service and products.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Establish operational procedures for activities such as verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current.
  • Schedule delivery trucks and drivers to destinations based on shipping requirements, cost, and delivery priorities.
  • Ensure drivers’ schedules are upheld.
  • Confirm deliveries and maintain appropriate records.
  • Inspect physical condition of warehouse and equipment.
  • Prepare work order for repairs and requisitions for replacement of equipment.
  • Confer with SSM to ensure coordination of warehouse activities with activities of other functions such as sales, and purchasing.
  • Participate in planning personnel safety and protection activities.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product or location code.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and places orders on pallets or shelves, or conveys orders to UPS station or staging area
  • Mark materials with identifying information.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Maintain inventory records.
  • Understand and maintain AWSA Protocols

Supervisory Responsibilities                                                     
Directly supervise warehouse and delivery staff. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; monitoring of overtime; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems in conjunction with Sales Service Manager.
What you need?
  • Post-secondary education in Business Commerce or related field
  • 4-6 years’ experience in a Warehouse and Customer Service 
  • Excellent knowledge on Microsoft Word and Excel programs
  • CDL Class B License
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to add subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurement
  • Ability to problem solve and make decisions in different situations
  • Ability to work on a team and to receive and deliver feedback
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to maintain high priority deadlines and excellent organizational skills
